Synology DS423+ 4 Bay Desktop NAS Storage Server
About this deal
Synology it’s an mess, on one side dismiss surveillance market without an competitive product with user diy DVA (enable user to add Nvidia GPU or USB m.2 you) and that insanity about “blessed hard drives’, meanwhile no nvme-only Nas no compact pro-sumer units as an all flash successor for desktop FS1018 , and while at last they offer WiFi 6 router’s Asus (reference Brand for good routers) sells a bunch of WiFi 6e with powerful opensource o more featured and even slightly cheaper. I’m quite disappointed and bet no single cent on Synology future. In the light of synology`s poor hardware “upgrades” for 2023 variants, then I have kept my good old 1520+ to serve the needed apps as cloud and survaillance station etc. It has been left to mind its own business in a corner… -And then I build an UNRAID server with an intel 12700 on a board with a 2.5 Gbit nic…. thats gives much better options as a combo than upgrading to a newer synology! Most users are going to have a plexa library that they’ve probably customized and should customize in one bulk “media folder” and then break it down within…. If you do stuff like that for all your multimedia they’re native apps don’t work you have to have it where they want it…. Same with sync you have to have it where they want it and it’s only sync … Me personally I want one-way sink data goes on the NAS … You can delete it off the phone or computer and that won’t transfer over…. They have improved the drive application but I still have to improve video photo and the other ones to be one way and for us to control the locations multiple or single nested location I don’t want to be told or you got to have it in the ” home /user /names/ photo/ to have the photo application work
A teljesítményadatok olyan tesztelésből származnak, amelyet egy meghajtókkal teljesen feltöltött eszközön végeztek folyamatos rögzítés mellett. A tényleges rendszerképességek a konfigurációtól, a meghajtók teljesítményétől, az engedélyezett szolgáltatásoktól és a további munkaterhelésektől függően változhatnak.
Funny how Eddie sometimes makes faces while listening to Robbie as if to say…nah, he really talks too much and too fast… What are some opinions here on the 423+ vs a 920+, other than that it'll be easier to find the 423+ on shelves once its released? As a photographer using Lightroom to manage my my photos, I still cannot understand why I need Synology Photos or S Video to manage them?
I will also be maxing out the M . 2 slots with the highest expandability **STRICTLY for Caching only** With a maximum raw storage capacity of 72 terabytes, the DS423+ is ideal for teams of professionals, small businesses looking to step into the world of centralized storage, or to serve as an edge node in distributed deployments. Preferably 10 gb ports, with expandability options up to 25 or even 40 gb read speeds. Or whatever will be the fastest to stream a 1080p music video, with having the only limitations be the remote user’s connection. ( További információk) I have been out of the loop for a couple of years and notice it’s still the same with Synology. You get a nice looking box for way too much money with everything agonizingly capped. I have 3 and I am fairly pleased with them (they do the job) but them being so cheap and scarce on EVERYTHING remains hard to swallow. I would recommend anyone considering a NAS to look further. It’s just too insulting what they’re playing hardware-wise, they’re yerking the consumer around.
Synology has been slowly upgrading its various NAS offerings over the last several months. In November, it launched the DS923+, a similar but ultimately different four-bay NAS solution. While the DS923+ is equipped with an AMD Ryzen R1600, the new DS423+ is powered by an Intel Celeron J4125 that features up to 2.7 GHz turbo performance compared to the 3.1 GHz turbo of the DS923+. The DS923+ also has significantly higher memory capacity (32GB versus 6 GB) and supports PCIe expansion. That said, the DS423+ is more expensive and not everyone is going to need that higher performance. Great review – BUT a wish for improvement: I don’t watch whole videos actively, I often wash dishes or don’t concentrate fully on the video while watching videos (that are not purely visual). And you always point on a NAS and say ‘this is better than this’ or ‘in this case you want this’. That really is an in-depth and thorough review. I’ve had the DS1621+ for about a year and you’ve helped explain what some of the apps actually do. Thank you.GARTNER MARKET GUIDE FOR NDR 2022 You probably know that we are big believers in Network Detection and Response (NDR). The one and only thing I don’t like about Synology multimedia apps or drive apps…. Is they TELL you where to put your media AND GENERALLY HAVE TWO-WAY SINK AS DEFAULT As mentioned, Synology DiskStation Manager is the core of the NAS, and the company says it offers comprehensive solutions that can protect and manage business data, facilitate collaboration on documents, provide remote file access, and serve as the hub for an IP camera-based surveillance system.
