About this deal
Overall these headphones are an excellent buy, they have a good sound, excellent battery life, and look as good as new even though they have been used daily for almost a year. The Hesh 3 are Bluetooth headphones, but they don’t offer more special features such as aptX HD and active noise cancellation. However, if you’re simply after a solid, affordable wireless set of headphones then you won’t necessarily be wanting these extras.
The frequency response chart for the Skullcandy Hesh ANC shows a major boost in the sub-bass, and a big boost in the treble frequencies compared to our consumer target curve. This means low bass frequencies will be louder compared to the music producer’s intent, and this could result in bass loud enough to negatively impact the mid range frequencies. If you want to hear your music without excessive amounts of sub-bass enhancement, you likely won’t enjoy this frequency response. Lows, mids, highs Presumably because of the price these headphones are going for, there is no NFC function to allow one-tap-pairing with your NFC enabled smartphone or player. Thus, you would have to do it the old-fashion way by turning on the Bluetooth on your device and pairing the Hesh 3 manually. Please note that your device should automatically connect to the headphones for the subsequent connections if Bluetooth is activated on both the source device and headphones. Technical Specifications:Oh yea, the sound. They sound amazing! I listen in to a wide range of music styles from Five Dinger Death Punch to Drake and these handle everything with ease! While listening to Drake - Nonstop turned up the whole way the bass was actually vibrating the headphones, but it wasn’t a “boomy” bass as is usually described with beats headphones. These just sound awesome no matter what you throw at them. I also listen to podcasts and they work just fine for that as well. While this likely means that you're going to have to buy a pair of wireless cans to use with your new smartphone, it doesn’t mean you have to pay top dollar on a pair: For their price, the Skullcandy Hesh 3 are basic wireless headphones that will satisfy bass lovers looking for a headphone that just works.
Female vocals shine slightly brighter than male vocals as it brings out the details in them more clearly. Guitar strings response pretty well, and this would be able to handle fast-paced songs; aka pop, EDM, etc. Treble
While the Skullcandy Hesh 3 don’t come with a carrying case, they fold flat or up for easy transport. It would have been nice to see a carrying pouch or case but the headphones feel durable enough to be stuffed in a bag without a case. Features and performance As you might expect, more expensive wireless headphones like the Bose QuietComfort 35 II and Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2 do a better job at conveying a sense of space and the timbre of instruments like the violin and cymbals, and to that end the Hesh 3 sounds wooden and two dimensional when compared to its more high-end competitors.
